With the Fall Foliage on the ground in most places and falling leaves being replaced by falling snow, it was time to look for a good book to read in front of the wooed stove. Just in time for the holidays, a friend shared her copy of “We Are Santa,” by photographer Ron Cooper. Cooper has compiled some masterfully images of Santas throughout the country. Images are in both color and black and white, often capturing Santa in both North Pole attire and street clothes. Many have a brief bio of how they first started as Santa, for how many seasons, and what it means to them.
Cooper includes some brief history of Santa Clause, the current and historical style of dress, training, etc., but the real treat is in the many photographs of Santa and the real faces, expressions, and spirit behind St. Nick. Look through the book, and you will feel the spirit and joy of Santa come alive from the pages of the book.
Order “We Are Santa,” from Amazon, it will make a great gift!
